President's Message - Sottile
It is truly a privilege to serve as the fourteenth President of the Bucks Business Network group on Staten Island.
The members of this organization are the most dynamic leaders in their industry who go above and beyond by making a commitment to share their knowledge, expertise, and connections within an organization specifically designed to make its membership the most informed business leaders.
By design, our club’s foundation and structure allows us to provide an information and education format on a regularly consistent basis through weekly meetings and networking events. Bucks meetings include weekly presentations from members and non-members with a focus on providing members the tools and cutting edge knowledge to continually grow their business and further develop their business skills.
I applaud the founding members of this organization for having the foresight and wherewithal to establish an organization that brings like-minded business people together for the betterment of its members and ultimately the betterment of the community as whole.
I hope you spend some time getting to know us through this website. Please reach out if you have any questions, are interested in possible membership, or would perhaps like to speak at our club. We look forward to getting to know you better as well.
Sal Sottile
President, Bucks Business Network
Since 1990 the Bucks Business Network has been Staten Island's Premier Business Organization. With members offering a wide range of products and services, there is certain to be a Buck with what you want or what you need.
In 1991 Staten Island business owners John Monte and David Rampulla founded the Bucks Business Network. Their vision was to create an organization that would benefit the business community by establishing a forum where experiences, both good and bad, ideas, and referrals would be shared by the membership. The organization would consist of unique businesses and community leaders who shared a desire to succeed.
Today the Bucks Business Network has more than 70 Staten Island based members who make our borough a better place to live and do business. Weekly breakfast meetings are held on Wednesday mornings at the Hampton Inn, 1120 South Avenue, Staten Island, NY. Meetings follow a basic format, club business, presenting speaker, tips. After club business a member or invited guest makes their presentation. Members are encouraged to keep the club updated on what is happening at their business, and how the club can help them grow. The presentation includes a brief question and answer period. TIPs are what the club has been built on, each member is required to offer an educational or business TIP to another member or the entire club. A TIP can consist of a referral, competitive information, or a suggestion on how to improve ones business.
Although the Bucks as a group do no community service work, and do not support any charitable organizations, our members are some of the most active people on Staten Island. You might not realize it, but if you live on Staten Island you have probably crossed paths with a Buck member.
Whether its helping a member improve their operation, advice on marketing plan, or a referral to a new client, the Bucks believe in Better Business Through Networking!
Founder's Message
As founders of the Bucks Business Network we have always believed that businesses learn from their mistakes. In forming the Bucks, we brought together an elite group of business people who are willing to share their ideas and experience.
As the saying goes, "knowledge is power," so goes the logic that Buck members don't need to learn from mistakes. Inherently, each member has a large pool of strong business leaders to share their ideas with.... This exchange fosters an environment of constant improvement and the ability for members to avoid unnecessary management challenges.
The Bucks are the finest collection of business people on Staten Island. They have consistently aided in the profitability of our businesses, and have been a part of our lives since 1991.
